- Campaigning
Further to our AGM at the beginning of the year I have taken on the role of School's Campaigner for our group. I worked in a large secondary school in Milton Keynes for two and a half years and have worked in a primary school for the past year. I understand the role of the SENCO and the EHC Plan within the school, and their responsibilities of supporting our children. I have been attending the committee meetings with MK Kids with Diabetes since my daughter was diagnosed in December 2014 and I find the support and information services available from the group invaluable.
I have made contact with the Diabetes UK Representative for Schools; she was very helpful and is a source of information. As a parent/legal guardian of a child, you have the main role in providing support, guidance and information to the school and I would like to help you with this.
